Outlined below are 10 new features that are available in version 3.16 of MySource Matrix. These features include:
Please note that the global asset specific keywords feature is only available from version 3.16.1 onwards. For more information about any of the other features that are available, please visit http://matrix.squiz.net.
When you use the login suffix, the MySource Matrix login box will appear where you can enter your username and password. Once you have logged in, instead of going to the Administration or Simple Edit Interface, you will be returned to the page you were currently viewing. For example, if you are viewing the “Contact Us” page on your site and you append “_login” onto the end of the URL, the login box will appear. Once you have entered your username and password, you will be returned to the “Contact Us” page within your site. This is useful if you want to allow certain users to have access to information or tools on your site but you do not want to add a login box into the design. The “_login” suffix can be changed on the System Configuration screen.
If you have a HIPO job within the system that has been stalled for longer than 5 minutes, a pop up message will appear, as shown in the figure below.
![]()
When you log out of the system, the Stalled HIPO Process screen will also appear if you have any stalled HIPO jobs. If this happens you need to either resume the HIPO job or delete it on the HIPO Herder screen.
The Hit Count Listing Page allows you to list the hit counts for the assets in a particular root node, for example your site. Three new Trigger actions – Increment Hit Count, Decrement Hit Count and Reset Hit Count – allow you to increment, decrement or reset the hit count for the assets in the system based on certain conditions. For example, you can create a Trigger to increment the hit count for all Live Standard Pages in your site whenever they are accessed by a user. From there you can create a Hit Count Listing Page to list the Standard Pages and their hit counts.
The Hit Count Listing Page is similar to an Asset Listing Page but allows you to only show assets based on a certain hit count criteria. For example, only show the Standard Pages that have a hit count greater than 5.
The Quick Search box is now available in the Insert Image, Insert Link and Insert Movie pop up, as shown in the figure below.
The Insert Image pop up will search through all Images, the Insert Link pop up will search through all assets and the Insert Movies pop up will search through all Files within the system. You can search by a keyword, an asset id or a URL.
When you enter a value, a list will appear, as shown in the figure below.

Click on the binoculars to view the asset in the Asset Map or click on the link to select the asset as the asset to use within the pop up window.
The Snippet content type allows you to select from a list of Bodycopy assets to use within the content of the page, as shown in the figure below.

These Bodycopy assets are child assets of a certain root node in the system. This is similar to linking a division into multiple locations; however, when you need to update the content of a Bodycopy you can easily find the division in the Asset Map as it is stored in a pre-defined location. You can also define which Bodycopy assets are available in the list to which users through the Preferences screen. For example, “User Group A” can use one list of Bodycopy assets, while “User Group B” can use a different list of Bodycopy assets. For more information on how to set up and use the Snippet content type, please refer to the MySource Matrix Fundamentals manual.
The global keyword replacement system now allows you to use keyword replacements for a specific asset within other assets in the system. The format of the keyword replacement should be %globals_<keyword_name>:<assetid>% where <keyword_name> is the keyword replacement you want to use and the <assetid> is the id of the asset you want to reference. For example, the keyword replacement globals_asset_name:67 will show the name of the asset with the id of 67.
By default, if you have an Account Manager page within your site, when a logged user accesses this page, they will be automatically be taken to the Simple Edit Interface where they can edit their account details, as shown in the figure below.

A new option called Enter Simple Edit Mode has been added to the Details screen where you can disable the automatic redirect to the Simple Edit Interface. This then allows a logged in user to create accounts using the Account Manager page.
The online quiz assets allow you to build a page on your site where your users can answer a series of multiple-choice questions and receive a mark based on their answers. The Online Quiz Multiple-Choice Question asset can be set up to randomly select a number of questions from a pool of questions. Once the user has answered the questions, their results will be displayed on the screen. An email containing their results can also be sent to a specified email address.
The Comment asset allows a user to add a comment about a page in your site, as shown in the figure below.

It is used in conjunction with an Asset Builder, an Asset Listing and a Paint Layout. The Asset Builder allows the user to create the Comment, the Asset Listing lists the Comments for an asset and the Paint Layout is used to show the content of the page in the site, the Asset Builder and the Asset Listing page.
The Multi-Date Calendar Event allows you to add an asset that contains both single and recurring events. For example, to add a meeting that occurs every Monday and Wednesday between 8:30am and 9:00pm to a calendar, you can create a Multi-Date Calendar Event and add 2 recurring instances to that event, as shown in the figure below.

Previously, you would have to do this by adding 2 Recurring Calendar Events assets.
