CVS Has Moved

Beta is not in the best shape, so we have moved all MySource Matrix CVS repositories from beta.squiz.net to delta.squiz.net. To change your systems to point to delta, please user the script cvsdelta.sh or cvschange.sh (depending on what is available to you).

One important thing to note is who will be given CVS access. All squiz servers (Canberra, UK, production servers etc) will be allowed access to delta.squiz.net, just as they already have for beta.squiz.net. All client servers (that's every server that we don't own) will not have access initially, even if they currently do. Chmouel wants to clean up the list of IPs that are allowed access because the list is too long and we don't really know who needs it. If you have a client that can no longer access CVS, let Chmouel know so he can unblock their IP.

New Dev Servers Up And Running

All MySource Matrix developers are now using the two new development servers, delta.squiz.net (app) and bravo.squiz.net (db). Everyone should be set up with a 3.7.0 system. A script to check out 3.4.x and 3.6.x systems is currently being developed and will be available next week. Scripts to check out and configure a unit test system for each developer will also be made available.

New Features

Data Source Graphing

Added to: 3.7.0 development

A new asset has being developed to graph the records created by a data source asset. This asset uses the PEAR:Graph package, a very powerful graphing tool, and provides a range of options that allow you to customise your graph. Currently, the graph asset is best used to graph the result of queries on your local MySource Matrix database or an external database through the DB data source.

Planned Development

RSS Feeds

To be added to : 3.7.0 development
Estimated start date: already in development
Estimated end date : 4th November 2005

A new asset is being development to make the creation of RSS feeds easier. You can currently create RSS feeds by customising the type formats of the listing engine assets, but this new asset will allow for feeds to be generated without the need for formatting. It will also take care of sending the correct headers and suppressing the site design.
