New Features

Mass Clone Tool

Added to: 3.9.0 development

This new tool allows backend users of the system to make multiple copies of assets they have access to. This avoids the need to manually clone an asset over and over, if a large number of copies are required.

The tool allows configuration of the number of clones to be created by the tool, as well as the parent to place the newly-cloned assets under and the type of link to create between the new assets and the parent.

Image Variety URL Keyword

Added to: 3.8.3 stable

Keywords to generate the URL of an image variety asset, previously added to the 3.9.0 development version (see newsletter issue #65), have been added to the 3.8 branch and will be available from version 3.8.3.

This allows keywords in the form %image_v_<VARIETY_NAME>_url% to be used, which print the URL used to access the image variety specified. Previously, only the HTML image tag of the image variety could be printed through keywords.

Version and DB Type Added to Error Emails

Added to: 3.8.3 stable, 3.9.0 development

The emails sent to the technical contact email address following a fatal error have been modified to also include the version of MySource Matrix as well as the database type used. The latter is as reported by the PEAR::DB module - either 'pgsql' for PostgreSQL systems or 'oci8' for Oracle systems.

Edit Status HIPO Changes

Added to: 3.8.3 stable, 3.9.0 development

There have been some changes to the operation of the Edit Status HIPO job. If status changes are cascaded to an asset's children, a separate Edit Status job will now be run to process its children.

This ensures that the call to the _updated() function on the parent asset occurs after its children have been processed. This change was necessary due to some anomalies in triggers using the Asset Updated trigger event.

Data Source Graph Improvements

Added to: 3.8.3 stable, 3.9.0 development

New graph types have been added to the Data Source Graph asset that allow multiple data sources to be charted in either a Stacked Bar or Area graph style.

New Bugs Added To Bug Tracker

Notes:

Bug #1273 (Recurring events show a day early) was submitted by Mike on 12th April 2006 but was marked as Can Not Replicate after two developers were unable to reproduce the bug.

Bug #1317 (Form action for search page not generating correct path) was submitted by Anthony Barnes on 28th April 2006 but was marked as Can Not Replicate after the original poster could not reproduce the bug after the system in question was upgraded to the latest stable version.

Bug #1318 (Changing global prefs disables WYSIWYG from starting in IE) was submitted by Anthony Barnes on 28th April 2006 but was marked as not being a bug as the issue was caused by a configuration problem in the WYSIWYG preferences.

Bug #1319 (Workflow screen errors when root user is member of workflow step) was submitted by Anthony Barnes on 28th April 2006 but was marked as Can Not Replicate after the original poster could not reproduce the bug after the system in question was upgraded to the latest stable version.

Bug #1329 (Re-uploading a CSS gives a PHP_NOTICE) was submitted by Deborah Braithwaite on 2nd May 2006 but was marked as not being a bug after it appeared the original poster uploaded an incorrect parse file into the Design CSS file asset.

Bug #1336 (Re-uploading associated files when asset is live gives error) was submitted by Anthony Barnes on 4th May 2006 but was marked as not being a bug because the system_move_update.php script had not run after the system in question had been moved.

Bug #1345 (paint() function does not construct valid file path) was submitted by Anthony Barnes on 5th May 2006 but was marked as Can Not Replicate after the original poster and the developer were unable to reproduce the bug.

Bug #1353 (Asset map not showing errors correctly) was submitted by Tom Barrett but was marked as Can Not Replicate after other developers were unable to reproduce the bug.

Bug #1356 (Link Create event doesn't fire for children) was submitted by davent but was marked as not being a bug as the event behaviour being reported is as intended.
