covers versions 3.8.7 stable, 3.10.2 stable, 3.11.0 development
Two new releases of MySource Matrix, versions 3.10.3 and 3.8.8, will be released to the web site on Monday, 6th November. Users running previous versions are strongly recommended to upgrade to these versions when they become available.
After some discussion as to the appropriate balance of permissions in creating or deleting links, the following rules have been decided upon:
- To create or delete a significant link (ie. anything other than a NOTICE link), you need write permission to both the major and minor assets. Note that this will not take into account other factors that affect EFFECTIVE write access, such as status and locking. Only permissions in the database (including roles) matter when determining write permission in this case.
- For a NOTICE link, you need EFFECTIVE write access to the major asset only.
These linking permission rules now apply in the development version and will apply in publicly released versions from the 3.12.x stream.
Added to: 3.11.0 development
The Bulk File Upload tool, due to appear in version 3.12, has been completed by the inclusion of a Local File Import option. This allows you to upload multiple files through the browser into a specified location. File types are assigned based on the extension of each file.
Note that the import directory must be set up in the Import Tools Manager must still be set up to use the Local File Import option: this will be used as a temporary directory that is used by the tool to store files. If server and local file import options are both used, the import will be set up so the two will not conflict.
Added to: 3.11.0 development
Previously the feature for authorising users pre-authenticated via some HTTP measure needed to use Apache's default variable of REMOTE_USER. The System Configuration screen now allows the variable name to be customised, to enable it to handle third-party authentication systems that may use another variable name.
To be added to : 3.11.0 development
Estimated start date: already in development
Estimated end date: mid November 2006

Bug #1812 (Selective Emails not being sent) was reported by Deborah Sherwood but was marked as not being a bug because names were being entered into the From: field without an email address, which in most cases is invalid. Emails should be entered by themselves, or in RFC 822 format ("Name <user@domain.com>").
Bug #1832 (Restrict the Add menu options for a user group) was a feature requested by Deborah Braithwaite, but was previously requested by her as bug #1349 (Restrict which User Group can add which type of assets) on May 8th. The bug has been marked as a duplicate and closed.
Bug #1833 (Keyword replacement problem on 3.8.3 -> 3.10.2 upgrade) was marked as fixed as the fix was already committed to the 3.10.x branch on October 11th.
Bug #1836 (Clear Form on the Custom Form) was reported by Deborah Sherwood but was marked as not being a bug as it was considered a misunderstanding of what the Reset (Clear Form) button on the form does - reverting the form to the point when the page was loaded.
Bug #1842 (Search results page is showing leftovers from another search%u2026?) was reported by Raena Armitage but was marked as not being a bug as it was caused by user error in the setting of the Search Page.
