New Releases on Monday
Attention MySource Matrix followers: the next releases of Matrix (versions 3.14.2 and 3.12.6) will be available on the web site this coming Monday, 2nd July 2007. These releases will include one or two small features along with the normal stream of bug-fixes.
Structured Asset Info Report Requires Root Node
Previously, the Structured Asset Info report was able to report on the entire system if a root node was inadvertently not selected. Due to performance considerations, the report configuration screen will now not allow this - if a root node is not selected, an error will be generated.
This change will also be backported into the upcoming 3.14.2 and 3.12.6 releases of Matrix.
New Features
XML User Bridge Asset
Added to: 3.15.0 development
This new Data package asset fetches an XML file (in a certain format) from a specified URL, and creates shadowed user groups and users underneath it if valid.
The XML file format allows you to specify any valid attribute - such as first name, last name and email address - for users as well as user groups. (An example XML file is provided along with the asset code). The users it creates are standard users and user groups by default, but the type of user can be selected. These users will not be able to log in, as no authentication system is provided for it.p>
Session-Level Dynamic Parameters
Added to: 3.15.0 development
Matrix now allows you to store values in a session-level array, that can be used in turn in a dynamic parameter (ie. parameter map). Currently, session-level variables can only be set using a new Set Session Variable trigger action.
(Note that this does NOT allow you to access all variables in the PHP $_SESSION array. Values set inside Matrix are "sandboxed", and only these values are accessible to.)

No new generic features are currently scheduled for development.

Notes:
Feature Request #2497 ("Allow RSS feeds to have designs applied", submitted by miriam.clinton on 28th June) was marked as a duplicate of Feature Request #1679 ("XSLT on RSS feeds", submitted by Richard on 15th September 2006) and has been closed.
Bug #2499 ("Fatal Errors appear on front-end", reported by Avi Miller on 28th June) has been marked as Can Not Replicate after a developer was unable to reproduce the problem on the target (3.14.1) version.
