New Features

XML Data Source and Weather Company Feed

Added to: 3.17.0 development

A new XML Data Source asset type has been added to the Data package. This asset type allows you to capture tags of a certain name, and provide them as Data Source records underneath the data source.

In association with this asset is a specialised asset type based on the XML Data Source, that allows subscribers to The Weather Company's RSS feed services to display data from those feeds as (shadow) assets in their Matrix system, so they can be listed by Matrix tools. (Note that the feed subscription is not a free service from The Weather Co. - contact them for details.)

Snippet Keyword Replace WYSIWYG Plugin

Added to: 3.17.0 development, 3.16.2 stable

There is new WYSIWYG plugin allows you to insert a snippet directly into a bodycopy DIV or Table that uses a WYSIWYG content type, rather than requiring its own DIV/table.

This also allows you to add a snippet as a global keyword, using the keyword format "%globals_snippet_<assetid>%" (or alternatively, "%globals_snippet_<assetid>_<snippet-name>%"), when not using the WYSIWYG content type (eg. Raw HTML).

Planned Development

No new generic features are currently scheduled for development.

Upgrading

3.17.0 Development

Additional queries: No additional queries are required for upgrades.

Additional comments:

No additional steps are required on the server side. However, the WYSIWYG was modified due to new features, including portions of JavaScript. You will need to clear the cache of browsers that have used the WYSIWYG before, once the re-configuration is complete.

Bug #2731 ("Asset Listing with random List format Problem", reported by Christophe Olivar on October 26th) was marked as Not a Bug. It is not possible to randomly list ALL of the assets, and thus a value of zero assets per page is interpretated as one asset in Random mode, rather than all the assets.
