Matrix Releases Next Week
Three new releases of MySource Matrix will be out next Monday (7th April):
- MySource Matrix 3.18.0. This is the first stable release of the first branch of MySource Matrix to be based upon PHP 5.
- MySource Matrix 3.16.7. This is a maintenance release of this PHP 4-based branch of MySource Matrix. This is predominantly a bug-fix release.
- MySource Matrix 3.14.11. This is the final supported release of the older stable branch of MySource Matrix. This is predominantly a bug-fix release, however, it is recommended to upgrade to at least version 3.16 as soon as possible in order to remain on a supported version of MySource Matrix.
New Features
Set Thumbnail Trigger Action
Added to: 3.16.7 stable, 3.18.0 stable, 3.19.0 development
This new trigger action takes an asset ID of an Image asset from a parameter map variable (GET data, POST data, and Matrix "session" data), which is then linked as the thumbnail of the current asset.
Select Form Questions Separate Key and Value
Added to: 3.19.0 development
This new feature allows you to store a key value in a Select Form Question, similar to how Metadata Select fields work. The Key value is the value that is stored in the form submission when that form is submitted.
Planned Development
No new generic features are currently scheduled for development.

Notes:
Bug #2922 ("Paint Layouts not expanding ./?a= style links", reported by nnhubbard on 19th March 2008) has been marked as Not a Bug. This type of internal link only expands inside <a> links.
Bug #2941 ("Asset Builder throws PHP 5 Strict messages", reported by nickobec on 31st March 2008) has been marked as Not a Bug. The Strict messages seen were due to an incompatible version of PEAR Mail, which was causing issues inside the Messaging Service.
