New MySource Matrix Releases
There were three new MySource Matrix releases last Monday. Versions 3.16.4 and 3.14.8 were primary bug-fix releases. Version 3.18.0 RC1 was also released - the first version of MySource Matrix to run on PHP 5. The latter version is released for evaluation purposes only. No support is provided for upgrading to candidate releases.
This release candidate only runs on a PostgreSQL database (Oracle support is forthcoming), and the minimum version of PHP required is 5.1.6 - this is the version supplied with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Versions 3.18.0 RC1 and later will NOT run on PHP 4.
The development branch is now known as version 3.19.0. The next stable branch, version 3.20, is due around the middle of this year.
New Features
HIPO Herder: Option to Resume Jobs in New Window
Added to: 3.19.0 development
The HIPO Herder screen now allows users the option to resume stalled HIPO Jobs in a new window, rather than in the main window as is previously. The original option to open in the main window still remains.
Filter by URL in Remap Manager
Added to: 3.19.0 development
This addition allows URLs on the Remap Manager's remapped URLs list to be filtered based on either their original or remapped URL (or both).
Clear Matrix Cache Tool Now Handles Multiple Root Nodes
Added to: 3.19.0 development
This addition allows multiple non-dependant assets to be cleared in a single run of the Clear Matrix Cache tool.
Asset Finder Now Allows Direct Entry of Asset ID
Added to: 3.19.0 development
The Asset Finder widget has been changed slightly. The widget now supports the manual entering of an asset ID in the smaller box to the right of the "Id: #" label.
Metadata Text Fields Now Have Character Limit Setting
Added to: 3.19.0 development
Metadata Text fields now contain an option to constrain the number of characters that said metadata field can contain.

Notes:
Bug #2829 ("Error when moving Site from One Site Network to Another", reported by kjb on 7th January) was marked as Not a Bug. The reporter submitted an error about a site that was trying to be moved from one site network to another. This limitation is by design; however, it can be moved out of one site network to a neutral part of the system, then into the other.
