There is no general MySource Matrix developer news this week.

New Features

Option to Control Remapping of Web Paths

Added to: 3.19.0 development

This new feature allows users to override the previous default (and un-changeable) behaviour of creating entries in the Remap Manager whenever a web path is changed for an asset.

The default setting is set in the Remap Manager asset, and can be overridden on a commit-by-commit basis on the Web Paths screen of an asset.

New Recache Suffix

Added to: 3.19.0 development

MySource Matrix currently has a "no-cache" (by default, "_nocache") suffix that can be added to an asset, to bypass the Matrix cache system and view the most recent version of an asset on the front-end, This new recache suffix (by default, "_recache") will do this, and also clear and re-populate the cache.

The new suffix will only work if a user has write access to an asset - this should prevent unless public write access has been given to an asset for some reason (this is not recommended, obviously!). This suffix is changeable from the System Configuration screen or the main.inc configuration file.

User Name on Asset History Screen

Added to: 3.19.0 development

This new feature shows the name of the user that committed each version shown on an asset's history screen.

Product Simple Edit Keywords

Added to: 3.19.0 development, 3.18.0 stable, 3.16.5 stable, 3.14.9 stable

The Product asset in the E-commerce package did not previously expose its own attributes as Simple Edit keywords. Now, the description, short description and details fields are available to Simple Edit layouts.

Planned Development

No new generic features are currently scheduled for development.

New Bugs Added To Bug Tracker

Notes:

Bug #2786 ("Webpaths not updating for linked Multiple Page Pages", reported by Damien Quintal on 4th December 2007) was marked as Can Not Replicate. Attempts were made to expose the bug in a number of different scenarios, without success.

Bug #2801 ("Insert Div window positioning in IE", reported by sdelfante on 13th December 2007) was marked as Can Not Replicate. It is believed by the original reporter that the bug does not exist in version 3.16.4, however.

Bug #2845 ("Multi Date Calendar Event", submitted by givn2fly26 on 11th January) was found to be a Duplicate. The issue listed had already been fixed in bug #2595 ("Can't make type formats, group format and position formats on asset listings live") on 13th September 2007. The duplicate has been marked as such and closed.

Bug #2846 ("Site Map dependent assets set to Yes does not show dependent assets", submitted by Jessica Getty on 14th January) was found to be a Duplicate. This issue was previously confirmed as exhibiting expected behaviour, and marked as "Not a Bug" in bug #2172 ("Site Map - show dependant assets not working") on 22nd February 2007. The duplicate has been marked as such and closed.
