Incomplete Metadata Report Enhancement

Summary

This document proposes an enchancement to the Incomplete Metadata Report. Rather than generating the report for all metadata fields, additional options will be added so that users can include only mandatory or selected metadata fields in the report.

Problem Definition

This specification arises from feature request #1271.

The Incomplete Metadata Report allows users to generate a list of empty metadata fields in the system. Users can specify an asset as the Root Node or leave it empty to generate report for the entire system.

New options are required to specify which fields should be included in the report to increase usability and to give users more control over the content of the report.

Technical Specification

Changes to the Details Screen

A new "Display Options" Section will be added to the Incomplete Metadata Report Details Screen. Users may choose which metadata fields they want to display in the report using the options provided.

  1. Include all metadata fields
  2. Include mandatory metadata fields
  3. Include selected metadata fields

If "Include mandatory metadata fields" is selected, only metadata fields with their "Required" attribute enabled will be shown in the report. If "Include selected metadata fields" is selected, users will be able to choose the metadata fields they want to display using a multiple asset chooser, and only metadata fields that have been selected will be shown in the report.

The changes will be visible in the report display without regenerating the report.
