The Calendar module allows you to include Calendar pages within your site, listing the Calendar Event assets that you have created in your system.
A Calendar page is similar to an Asset Listing page, and lists the Calendar Event assets that you have created in your system. Calendar Events can either be individual one-off events, or periodically recurring events, known as Recurring Calendar Events. Calendar Events can be created in the Administration Interface, or more usually using a members area of your site on an Asset Builder page.
You can specify different views for your Calendar Page, allowing your events to be viewed by year, month, week, day or by individual event.
You can create a Calendar page asset to list Calendar Event assets in a specified folder. You can specify different views for your Calendar page, allowing your events to be viewed by year, month, week, and day or by individual event, and use the WYSIWYG editor to layout your Calendar page using keywords.
A Single Calendar Event is an event that occurs once only. You can create Single Calendar Events in the Administration Interface, but more usually you will create an Asset Builder page to allow front-end users to create events.
A Recurring Calendar Event is an event that re-occurs on a regular basis. As for Single Calendar Events, you can create Recurring Calendar Events in the Administration Interface, but more usually you will create an Asset Builder page to allow front-end users to create them.
You can create a Recurring Event Modification asset to modify the title or description of an individual instance of a Recurring Calendar Event. Once an individual event is modified, its details will differ when it appears in any of your Calendar page views.
You can also create a Recurring Event Cancellation asset to cancel an individual instance of a Recurring Calendar Event. When a Recurring Event Cancellation is created for a particular date under a Recurring Event, the instance of the Recurring Calendar Event that would normally appear on that date will not appear in any of your calendar page views.
