31 Jan 2018 By Bartek Banda
This month we released Squiz Matrix version 184.108.40.206 which includes 26 new features & enhancements, 5 deprecations, and 42 bug fixes.
220.127.116.11 features an improved custom logging & error handling Trigger Action, Custom Form Field Morphing, tag & commit ID checkout support for the Git File Bridge, a new Permissions info keyword, and much much more.
Make sure to check out the release notes to see a full list of changes.
In recent versions of Matrix we've started to mark more and more assets and features as deprecated with the intention of removing them from the core code base at a future date.
With the planned work going into version 5.5 and 6.0, this list has now grown a lot and it's important that users are aware of these upcoming changes as they are planning upgrades.
To help communicate this, we've changed the way that deprecation notices are displayed in the Squiz Matrix admin interface. Now, when you are viewing an asset or feature that has been marked for deprecation, a generic message will be displayed together with a link that takes you to the brand new deprecation information page on the Matrix documentation site.
The link will take you to the deprecation page and scroll you down to the relative row in the table that describes the deprecation and future removal plan of the asset or feature you clicked the link from.
Release Notes Generator
Often when your Squiz Matrix system is getting upgraded, you will be going through several release versions. When doing so, it's often quite useful to get a list of everything that has changed throughout all those version releases.
Well, now you can!
We've added a Release Notes Generator to the Releases page that lets you do just that. Simply select the version you are upgrading from and the version you are going to and click the "View" button.
This will generate a list of all release notes published between those versions in a print-friendly format for you to review.
