The Import Assets from XML Tool allows users to perform actions passed in from an XML file, including the creation of assets and setting metadata.

The import/export process is not guaranteed across different versions of Squiz Matrix. Caution should be taken when using this tool.

To import assets using this tool, select an XML file in the Import XML File field. Please note that this field also supports tar files containing XML and physical files to import assets from.

In the Import Assets Under field, select a parent asset to import the assets under, if one if not already specified in the your XML file. Please note that this field will overwrite any parent asset information specified in the XML file.

Tip: An example XML file structure is provided on the Import Assets from XML Tool screen or can be accessed at  /__data/asset_types/tool_import_assets_from_xml/files/example.xml.
