Latest Releases

This month we released two new versions of Squiz Matrix for the 5.4 branch, patch version 5.4.4.2 and micro version 5.4.5.0.

Version 5.4.5.0 features a new Asset Sorting Trigger Action and JS API function, the ability to use the current date for Custom Form date fields, a new Audio File asset, and some small UI improvements to the REST Resource asset.

The latest version also marks several assets as deprecated, meaning that you won't be able to create these assets via the Admin interface anymore. Make sure you review the recently published Deprecation page for more information around what's been deprecated and removed in what version.

Check out the release notes for both versions to see the full list of changes.

Release Notes Generator Update

Earlier this year we published the Release Notes Generator, which is a tool that lets you see a list of all changes that have been made between two specific versions that you can review when doing upgrades of your Squiz Matrix system.

We've now improved this tool so that it groups all features & enhancements, deprecations and removals, and bug fixes together, in order to make it easier for you to review what's new in a more logical order.

There is now also an automated short URL for each unique report that you can use for easy link sharing.

Squiz Matrix 5.5 Feature Highlight

As we get closer to the release of Squiz Matrix version 5.5, we thought we'd give you yet another sneak peak on one of the exciting new features you can look forward to.

Introducing, User Preferences.

As you might have guessed, it's the ability for you to have custom user preferences for various interface settings and behaviours in Admin mode.

One of the settings you'll be able to customise, is the ability to have custom Asset Map root nodes. These are useful for when you want to have shortcuts to various areas of your system.

Several other preferences can also be set around the Asset Map, Messaging System, and the overall User Interface. More of these types of user customisations will also be added over time.

Stay tuned for next month's newsletter when we'll have more feature sneak peaks to show you and hopefully have a release date for version 5.5.
